Two observers. Two explorers. Two makers. Anna and Benjamin share their passion for understanding the old, for discovering the new, and for improving the broken.

(By the way, those first two photos are of us at our first brunch together in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.)
What could have been gentle first steps in a young romance, turned out to be daring leaps across oceans, continents, and conventions. Never taking safe routes.

Anna met Benjamin ever-so-briefly in 2012. Benjamin came to New York to speak at a conference. She was bartending for the conference after party. Although intrigued, she was reluctant to share the last Brooklyn Lager with him. A year later, at the same conference, they met again. Just before his talk, they finally spoke. She pretended to remember his talk from the year before. He pretended to be eager to help her stack magazines.
Benjamin flew back to Switzerland.
Four days after that, he came back for her.
After a few weeks of video calls despite the six hour time difference, Benjamin drew a map and made an offer to meet Anna in the middle of nowhere. Months later, she finally accepted. They spent days driving through Swedish woods, eating strange candies, picking blueberries and consuming jars upon jars of lingonsylt. On the last day, Benjamin made a second offer. One she couldn't refuse or postpone.
For them to truly be together, they knew that time and space between them would need to dwindle.
Ironically Anna moved to California, increasing time and space between them. Luckily, Swiss flys direct to San Francisco. Benjamin and Anna spent days working in the studio, nights dining in the city, and mornings waking up to the sound of the Pacific Ocean. Taste testing local gins and honey champagne, exploring the hills of Point Reyes, watching the sun set over Stinson Beach. Oh, and Rhye played for them at the Fox Theater. Some of the first music they ever traded just after they met. Thanks, Milosh and Robin!
Again, Benjamin had to return home.
This time, Anna booked flights to take her back to him.
Anna's father told Benjamin that he couldn't bring her to the peak of a mountain on skis. Thing is, Anna loves the Alps and Ben loves to see her happy. So he came up with something different.

Benjamin took her on a flight by helicopter through the Alps.
Atop Aletsch Glacier he asked her to be his wife. She said Yes!
